Project: 140’ Crane Barge Client: Metal Trades, Inc./NYC DOT Staten Island Ferry Terminal Discussion: The SIF NYC DOT Crane Barge is the first of two NYC new build deliveries by Metal Trades, Inc. of Hollywood South Carolina. Maritime Design, Inc. was the lead engineer in the design, ABS approvals and shipyard production support. The crane barge was a successful delivery and mounted a Kobelco CK1100-G crawler crane with both an 80 ft and 100 ft boom configurations. The crane barge is now conducting pile driving operations in support of the Staten Island ferry operations is equipped with a compressed air pile driver and hydraulic pile driver/extractor. |
